4. Residence permits
There are three types of stay of a foreigner in Montenegro:
1) stay up to 90 days;
2) temporary residence;
3) permanent residence.
A foreigner may stay in Montenegro on the basis of a tourist stay or visa for a maximum of 90 days. In order to reside in Montenegro for a longer period, it is necessary to obtain a temporary residence permit.
The most common ways to obtain temporary residence for foreigners are:
1) stay on the basis of real estate in Montenegro;
2) residence on the basis of family reunification and
3) residence on the basis of work or ownership of a company in Montenegro.
If you extend temporary residence permit for five years continously, you acquire the right to apply for permanent residence permit which will ensure you the same rights as if you were Montenegrin citizen (except you will not be able to vote on the elections and you will not have Montenegrin passport).
Whatever type of residency you choose, our specialists are at your disposal, in order to save your precious time and money and get the desired Montenegrin ID card.
